  • People are avoiding him because to do otherwise is to feed the troll.

No one who uses the argument that there are more covid deaths under Biden than Trump is arguing in good faith. If you don’t understand the reason for that you are not capable of a discussion.

If you are arguing that Biden made Covid policy decisions for the economy over safety and somehow believe Trump would not, you are not arguing in good faith. The difference is Biden has advisors and weighs the nuanced effects, like any rational intelligent human being, whereas Trump would do Trump things.

There is no need to dissect the policy for this guy.

Because like the comic is pointing out as the issue and that OP has just done that exact thing - steering the conversation of topic away from the focus.

In a discussion about women by a woman, it sounds crazy but maybe they want the focus to be on women. That doesn’t mean men issues don’t matter or don’t exist. There are an infinite number of venues to discuss it that are not in a thread regarding women issues.

  • Lebanon has a government and an army that is not Hezbollah. They do not want Hezbollah’s presence in Lebanon either. Which is why you do not hear the Lebanese government denouncing or opposing Israel’s actions. You don’t see them going to the UN or the US telling them to stop Israel.

Just because you don’t approve of their government and response doesn’t mean you can just dismiss it.

  • If Obama didn’t push for ACA, we would not be at this point we are now. Even if he did not succeed to get everyone on board, he moved the needle. The conversion is steering in the right direction.

And like the other replier said, the president sets the guidance for congress and their party. They make it clear what they want to pass and what won’t pass, then congress will work towards those goals/ compromises. Ex, If the president clearly indicates she is pro choice, any anti abortion legislation is going to be vetoed so no one is spending political capital trying to push for it, grandstand aside.

  • The entire premise is BS because Biden has a list of accomplishments from infrastructure to debt forgiveness, progressive drug guidance, progress in gender/race equality, departments like the ftc and irs being competently run again with actual resources, to judge appointments. Hmm I wonder to who’s benefit it is to ignore all that and label him “not Trump”?

  • “before Uber, we had underfunded public transit” well we still do, this is a public problem not a private one

You can classify it however you like but Uber made it better, if only for a while. No matter what you think the problem is or was it clearly wasn’t going to change on it’s own.

“before Crypto, there was no Crypto” ok granny, the rest of the world had bank transfers

This is something people who do not do international transfers (ignorant people) say. Bank transfers with up the ass fees and exchange rates decided by the same people. Crypto came along and rates became more competitive, showing there is demand and allowing services like Wise to come around.

“AI is the future” no, what they’re calling AI right now is a giant scam. the tech will come, but this aint it

Again a comment from the ignorant. You can be pedantic and call it"not real AI" but generative AI and LLM is in use now and billions are being spent too build up the infrastructure. Companies and governments aren’t doing that if the payoff isn’t there.

  • Not really accurate, just very cynical.

All those disrupters did their job and either broke up monopolies or forced industries to adapt where they would have otherwise been perfectly content sitting on their ass and doing nothing for the consumer.

Cabs/Taxis - artificially controlled in number to keep fares high and service sucked.

Crypto - try to remember before crypto, the idea of cashless was non-existent. Want to make international transfers? Pay up the ass in fees and at rates they choose. Crypto forced companies to do better with digital currency.

Generative AI - is the future and will propel innovations we have not even considered.

Admittedly Airbnb is the only"disruptive" tech that isn’t so great and has more serious consequences, but I’m all for the hotel industry having more competition.

We can argue the current state of Uber/Lyft and crypto isn’t great, but they started off well and did disrupt in good ways for the consumers.
