that said, being rude is both unnecessary and self-defeating, and probably derails folks’ horny more than just downvoting or blocking and then moving on so idk
not sure about apt, but with apt-get the default behavior for upgrade is to hold back packages with new dependencies that are not currently installed. in that case, running
sudo apt-get upgrade --with-new-pkgsshould get those packages upgraded as well, assuming that dependency conflicts aren’t a factor, too
