I dont really care for short form videos anyway and have never used the likes of Instagram / tik tok etc but now that I’m seeing loops videos pop up on my Lemmy feed I’ll occasionally see something I’m interested in. However not being able to mute the video before starting to play it instantly puts me off and as such I ignore anything loops based already…

I personally don’t even find it that annoying as it takes around 30 seconds more to log in via a browser for me and I barely ever use it anyway. I’m more annoyed that my bank has the audacity to think they can dictate what I use on my phone citing “login blocked due to custom ROM” or something similar when I last tried to use the app.

Fuck banks.

There are quite a few options but you can enable location, pitch/yaw data, phone exif data all independently of each other as well as add custom exif data of your choosing.

As with most others I use a different launcher but I switched user accounts to try it out for you and you can theme those icons and then pick a single colour, a trio of colours or choose wallpaper to colour the icons in other colours other than black and white.

I use open camera which has always been fine for my needs and doesnt include any meta data with the saved images.

Battery life has been absolutely fine for me but I never used the stock ROM for comparison.

Sandboxed stuff I’ve used has always worked as is expected but I dont use a lot of apps tbh

I use organic maps but again I very rarely use maps and it can be a bit odd in the way it works but still it has got me where I’ve been going each time.

I think it is great and wouldn’t want to switch back here is a page that lists all bank app compatability as that is a common concern for people.

Ive used it for around a year and a half and never had any issues. My banking app stopped working after about 8 months but I just log in via a browser and it hasn’t effected my life at all.

For anyone considering the move here is a list of bank apps and their current working status as I know that is a big consideration people worry over.

I would use Linux if I could but sadly I can’t.

Linux doesn’t run what I need, getting some form of LTSC is my only option.

They both gave me links and worked exactly as torrentio did when working. Maybe give them a try.

When I did this recently I used Lexicon DJ management (as I’m a DJ and it has lots of other features I was using too).

There are a few options to choose from in terms of how it searches and how strict it is when trying to find duplicates. I’m not sure which features are available on the free version, I paid just for one month to sort out a lot of things within my DJ library but it may be worth looking in to to see if it can serve your needs :)

This way truly identical audio duplicates are found. This even works with different file types. If you have an MP3 and a WAV with the same audio, Lexicon will match them and lets you choose which one you want to keep.”

So it doesnt just scan filenames it compares the audio files themselves to weed out duplicates.

As long as you dont turn that feature off it does. You can set it to restart if the device hasn’t been unlocked for between 10 mins and 3 days.

I use AirVPN and see others who are happy and recommend it. I moved from mullvad due to them stopping port forwarding and have been happy ever since.

I am aware of mental omega but have never actually got around to giving it a go to see what it is like, last I looked at it was quite a long time ago now too!
