I don’t know how they are known in English speaking world, sorry! Also I think majority of people not interested in any of that, so we probably did not lose much in this case.

196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•French is such a *rule*ful languageEnglish
2·7 days agoCan confirm, too. I am not German, just learning it due to my living situation, but this language feels like getting beaten in a dark alley. I though my language is complex on all this grammatical, syntax and so crap, but nope.
Ahh, okay, yeah.
Oh, yeah. Seems like Ukrainian did changed slightly from this times, hehe. But this one is not that highly known or popular, I would say. You here can much often hear about УПА and Правий Сектор.
Can you perhaps send a picture it? I maybe remember seeing it somewhere.
Ukrainian anarchist flag?
While cellwriter is long dead, it is still fairly working.
It just requires you to use X11 session and programs. In some distribution (especially on distributions where maintainers patch cellwriter) it might eve somewhat work under Wayland sessions. Ad, also, it requires you to manually build your own database for each individual symbol. Program does not come with ready-to-be-used set of symbols.
As for recognition quality, especially for multi-language with different writing set (e.g. Cyrillic and Latin) scenarios, and general usability… Uh, not that great, even when program does work.
(I, as original poster, also was looking for a solution, but to this day never found one. This is one of things where Linux suck ass.)

syncthing: Kommando nicht gefundenAs far I am aware - there is no other packages related to syncthing is avaliable in distro repositories and this one not included by distro by default.
UPD: there also appears to be
syncthing-toolspackage in repos, but it is also not included in mine system by default and I never installed it myself. The only trace of Syncthing on my system is… well, from that flatpak. And unless I missunderstund how any of that works, syncthing is included in flatpak and you can look for it in its manifest file:
https://github.com/flathub/com.github.zocker_160.SyncThingy/blob/a786450f1305474e71c1f33c468ff3dc5758e238/com.github.zocker_160.SyncThingy.yml#L42It takes syncting release fromhttps://github.com/syncthing/syncthing/releasesand adds it to build process.

2·10 days agoMaybe this is true for SteamOS, but I am mostly was replying about “great at that, but it takes a lot to get around the immutability without relying on unmaintained flatpaks”. I use immutable Distro, there is maintained syncthing available as Flatpak, and i did not experienced any problems related to using immutable distribution with syncthing specifically, so eh.

I did, not thumb but spoon, but in my case it seems to be psychological trauma that I got later in life, since I did not had it when I was 12 or so.
I wish. I really do :(
I think, that in my case it is trauma that made itself appear later in life. Because it was never an issue when I was younger. Even dentist tried to say the same to me.
Gag reflexes are bitch. Not sure if beating them is even possible anymore.

2·20 days agoFrom quick test, LibreTranslate UI can’t work without JavaScript… Hm, then maybe you can look for Mozhi? https://codeberg.org/aryak/mozhi I tested one instance that I found, https://mozhi.adminforge.de/, with disabled JavaScript via Ublock, and seems it worked!

7·20 days agoMight not be something that you exactly need, but might help you:
- https://github.com/DavidVentura/offline-translator if you are on Android, it is fully offline, once you download an translation models. Also it provides option to turn on LibreTranslate-compatible server, so other programs that supports this API can call this servee.
- https://github.com/you-apps/TranslateYou — Multi-service client, can translate from many different service, including ability to provide your own addresses to other (or your own) instances.
- You can selfhost earlier mentioned libretranslate https://libretranslate.com/, it is relatively easy to do. Translation quality quite good, but it’s model are somewhat really bad with single word translations. If you want to translate mostly single words, then some dictionary solution should be preferred.
- If you are on Linux, you can check out https://flathub.org/de/apps/net.mkiol.SpeechNote — it’s primary function is to deal with text-to-speech and vise versa, but it also provides translator. Translation models here are based on Mozilla models that you might had used in Firefox.
- Also Linux app: https://flathub.org/de/apps/dev.ters.LocalTranslate, it also uses Mozilla models under the hood.

There is actually active fork of gmaps webview, which works fine (for now anyway): https://github.com/woheller69/maps
