I don’t feel I’ve read nearly enough to explain this properly but it’s on me for uttering the words so here goes. Sexual dissent is any act going against the established sexual order. This concerns gender identity, gender roles and sexual orientation. The rules being challenged can be tacit social codes or official laws. For many members of the LGBTQ+ community, existing is dissent. A cis person may be dissident by challenging or subverting their assigned role in society. Feminism did a lot in this regard. The goal is to reach a greater level of freedom in the way we express ourselves.
