Trump also praised China’s President Xi Jinping for recently consolidating power and extending his potential tenure, musing he wouldn’t mind making such a maneuver himself.

this is some annoying meta-irony thing that a politician should not be doing, because it is very difficult to discern a position from it. you have to take him both literally and sarcastically at the same time, which is about as useful as ignoring him. nobody has a clue what’s going on when he talks
