    I use GitHub. Heavily. VERY heavily. But I only use the git part of GitHub.

    Why? Because:

    • The stuff I host on GitHub is open-source, so it’s public, and Microsoft therefore has no monetizable data from me.
    • Since I only use git, I can migrate my repos anywhere else within minutes. Microsoft has no vendor lock-in on me.
    • I waste Microsoft’s resources and they have nothing to show for it.
