Because: The stuff I host on GitHub is open-source, so it’s public, and Microsoft therefore has no monetizable data from me. Since I only use git, I can migrate my repos anywhere else within minutes. Microsoft has no vendor lock-in on me. I waste Microsoft’s resources and they have nothing to show for it.
I use GitHub. Heavily. VERY heavily. But I only use the git part of GitHub.
