Interesting video, but please post videos about politics to c/politicalvideos

Edit: For context, since a lot of community members were asking for us to block political vids, we put it up to a community vote, and people asked to break political and non-political vids into separate communities.

This is the tiniest little blip. Sure Bezos will take note, but they’re just going to jack up prices for the tarrifs. What will become of people who can’t afford all their cheap Chinese junk? If they get to vote in a couple years we MIGHT see some action taken.

I cancelled my Prime in boycott (and brokenness) ages ago… And yet, my account still gets free shipping. My partner looks at the same item, shipping charges but for me it says “Free With Prime” yet I click on the free games or video and it says “Sign up for Prime.”

So, when we absolutely need to order something from them, I do it because it takes a little bit more from them.

This is actually a very positive thing from the insanity, at first it will inconvenience users but then they will get used to looking elsewhere.

Good I hope Amazon does have to start thinking in those terms, about its survival and due consideration and not have easy and forced free reign to spaff corporate cold greed all over local commerce and everyday trade between people.

Yeah, Amazon controls like half of the entire world’s internet by this point. It’s truly an astronomically large number of sites. Between AWS and CloudFlare, it reminds me of the old AT&T/Bell telephony monopoly BS from the 70’s and 80’s.

I’d rather people got used to just going without instead. Grab a book, go outside under a tree. Read the book.

Cancel subscriptions, cancel memberships, cancel reoccuring costs. Buy food, and quality items. Stop buying ‘smart’ shit.

You need none of this junk. Stop feeding the machine. Make them hurt. We control ALL the power.

Ironic that you say “grab a book”, when one of the largest booksellers in the world, putting all smaller booksellers out of business, is the thing we’re all railing against. Do you realize how much of a monopoly they have on all corners of the market? It’s not just “smart shit”.

I’ve been boycotting all amazon subsidiaries and affiliates for over a year now, so I’m not suggesting that we shouldn’t, but that’s easier said than done. This comment is displaying levels of ignorance to which I can only respond “gee thanks, I’m cured”.

In fact, several of my favorite authors have exclusive contracts with amazon, because it’s more financially viable for them.

ETA: in fact, consider that, even if everyone with a prime subscription canceled right now, it would barely even impact their bottom line, because most of their entire revenue stream comes from AWS.

How privileged, your wondrous life must be. I envy you the marble and ivory walks you must be able to tread in this, your halcyon paradise, where you can merely tell these ignoble peasants to eat cake. I pity you your ignorance. When the silt on which you’ve built your grand temple to your own ambivalence washes away, I wonder what you will say, then?

Get down off your fucking high horse and rage against the dying of the light in the corpofascist hellscape this world has become, or fuck off back to your palace, Marie Antoinette.

Still he’s a greedy billionaire, I don’t think he’s in the habit of saying oh I make more money over there anyway so who cares about the money I’m losing here. They tend to want all the money everywhere all the time. That’s why they’re a disease.

He doesn’t say shit. He’s retired and someone else is at the helm. Sure he probably has his input but he can do nothing for the rest of his life and still die a billionaire.

He’s still the executive chairman of the board and the largest shareholder. As for dying a billionaire, hopefully sooner rather than later.

He had certain assurances…Information that would be wildly lucrative given the stock market rapid changes every time Trump said something stupid on twitter or his publicly traded social media company.

It’d be nice if it happened. I guess most of their products (also everyone else’s) are probablyade in China.
