For me, I opt for Japanese cuisine because of the varieties (there are multiple types of Ramen, Soba, Tempura even Sushi) but contrary to belief, sushi isn’t eaten that much as opposed to ramen tends to be popular in Japan (it’s easier to find ramen joints than sushi, kind of weird).
Korean food meanwhile, consists on vegetables A LOT (it’s a common addition with most dishes, or gets treated like as if its a condiment) & I pass on Kimchi as I’m not into it (I know that Thai food is spicy, but Korean cuisine takes that to another level, like they can’t live without hot chili).
Only pick one: why is JP or KR cuisine better?
Korean. Sushi is nice but Gimbap just takes that concept to a whole new level.
Yes, I do.
Idk man. There’s too much cross over in things like curry to pick.
How about I just eat them all?
My IBS doesn’t agree with hot chili, so it’s Japanese for me. They have wasabi, but it’s optional and it’s an essential oils (? IDK, I’m ESL)-based hotness, so it’s less hard on the digestive tract.
Also, AFAIK regular Japanese food that Japanese people eat at home is also vegetable-centric, that’s just not usually what’s served as fast food.
I used to prefer Japanese, but it’s Korean by a landslide, now. I’ve pretty much cut out empty-calorie foods, so noodles no longer have much attraction to me. And I prefer ceviche now over sushi & sashimi. And I love vegetables and spicy food.
I see no reason to choose
No. I don’t think I will. I love both for different reasons.
I prefer my Japanese noodle bowls, Korean rice bowls, Chinese chili meals, Thai curries and Vietnamese street food.
