The U.S. is increasing its espionage in Greenland as part of Donald Trumpās campaign to take control of the island.
Donald Trumpās quest to conquer Greenland is becoming increasingly serious.
The intelligence community directed intelligence agency chiefs to conduct a spy campaign on the Denmark-controlled island territory last week, issuing a ācollection emphasis messageā for information pertaining to Greenlandās independence movement, as well as an examination of local attitudes regarding āAmerican resource extraction,ā reportedĀ The Wall Street Journal. It also tasked agencies to identify individuals living in Greenland and Denmark who support the Trump administrationās goals for the island.
Gabbard was not happy to hear that the news of the initiative had gotten out. āThe Wall Street JournalĀ should be ashamed of aiding deep state actors who seek to undermine the President by politicizing and leaking classified information,ā Gabbard told theĀ JournalĀ in a statement. āThey are breaking the law and undermining our nationās security and democracy.ā
That means you have no friends
Friends donāt spy on friends. Friends respect their friendās right to privacy
To stretch a metaphor: Spying on friendly nations is assumed by everyone, and is a huge part of why weāre still friends. If you can be sure your friends are in fact your friends, doesnāt that mean your friendship will be stronger? Especially if your friends have nuclear weapons.
Nope
A wittier retort Iāve never seen.
