These days it’s one of the most rapidly growing counties in Florida. It used to be all orange groves but now it’s just endless stretches of shitty new build suburbs. I live in Orlando but travel around the state for work and Polk is an awful place to be.
Oh I never lived in Polk County. I grew up in Orlando and then lived south in Palm Beach County for a bit. Polk County was always a joke in Orlando as the most redneck area of the state.
Looks like Polk County might be the only county in Florida to go more red lol. Which absolutely tracks as a former resident of that state
It’s actually sumpter and Charlotte were the only two to shift right. Polk shifted towards Dems by 14 points.

Polk did still mostly lean red but only by around 5% which is not bad for what is usually an extremely conservative county.
