Wow, so it’s kind of like the smart and kind person’s Christianity. I wondered if it’s closer to Unitarian. If I were you, I would choose that as closest because they have a Frank Lloyd Wright designed church, lol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unity_Temple
Thanks for explaining it. I’m always surprised at how many versions of religion there can be. If you consider Mexican, Italian or even Midwest vs West Coast Catholic, you get 4 different nuanced religions with different customs. But like you said, even within the same physical church, you’ll get different types of worship.
That’s an interesting sect of Christianity. I’m not being shitty, I promise and this is an honest question. How does your church handle the inconsistencies in the bible? Do you have your own version other than the King James?
As Reformed churches, we belong to those churches of the Protestant Reformation that acknowledge Jesus Christ as Head of his church. He rules and governs his church by his Word and his Spirit, not by the dictates of men. Therefore, the authority of the creeds and confessions, to which all our office-bearers subscribe as fully agreeing with the Word of God, is always subordinate to the authority of his inspired and infallible Word, the Bible. It was in that context that our forefathers wrote the following Reformed confessions, also known as the Three Forms of Unity: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort. The ministers, elders, and deacons of each congregation sign the Form of Subscription as a promise to preserve and to propagate the faith contained in these doctrinal standards to the utmost of their abilities. With minor variations, this form has been used since the Reformation.

What kind of Christian are you?
Then why not make the distinction as extremist Muslims since you know most people get it wrong?

Wow, all Islamists are bad, but only evangelicals are bad in christianity? Dude, you be predigest.
No worry, as a very practicing Christian with friends in different traditions, I can say nobody but a few extremists (evangelicals, islamists, …) believes that being atheist prevent you to be saved.

691·2 days agoOh, it’s legal already. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VfYjPzj1Xw They just don’t want to suffer the consequences.
The University of Florida disbanded its chapter of the College Republicans after one of its reported members, Dylan Estrella, was photographed allegedly throwing a “seig heil” Nazi salute in an online video stream — the photo went viral. Now, the organization is suing the university for allegedly violating its First Amendment free speech rights.

Dude, being anti-LGBTQ is a non-starter. Good luck trying to white wash her stances.
I can accept that MTG is no longer a trumper, I can’t accept most of her anything else. She is racist and destructive and trying to set up her next bid for election. I’m guessing the next VP?

“This hateful, racists [sic], and demeaning rhetoric should not be tolerated. Ever. But they allow it and keep her in the inner circle,” Greene wrote Sunday in a social media post on X.
Note: I included her anti-racism because it seems like she’s not used to it.
Do you believe that everybody is a blank slate without variation?
No, but being the best and being “talented” are 2 different things.
Mozart learned to play at 4, began composing at 5, and wrote his first symphony at 8. Do you think that every child is capable of this?
No, not every single child, but I bet there are lot more than we realize. He was nurtured as well, obviously. I made up melodies in my head as a child, but I didn’t have access to a great teacher and a piano.
Which brings up something else, how many children are brought up with musical instruments around them that are serious instruments and not playschool quality? How many children that want to explore music aren’t allowed to? If I had a child surrounded by accordions and that’s what they learned to play on and compose music, don’t you think the response would be different than mozart’s piano?
I’m not saying I’m right 100% of the time, there are going to be mechanical issues with people’s bodies. I’m saying that most people can get really talented (not the best ever) if nurtured and allowed.
Note: I apologize if my tone sounds antagonistic, I truly mean this as a discussion.

I respectfully disagree with almost everything you said. If you can teach someone art, which you can, then you can teach someone to “have talent.” There are people who refuse to learn because they don’t like it, or don’t want to, but you can be taught just about anything.
Take Mozart from your example, he was taught to play by someone who didn’t hold him back or try to stop him, that is a gift right there. What if everyone’s “talent” is just being free with what you enjoy and no one is stopping you in one way or another.
Let’s not even go into who decides when you have talent or not, because it’s trendy and there are taste makers.
