Apple is reportedly moving ahead with its plans to aggressively monetize the iOS ecosystem, with the Maps app rumored to be next in line.
What was the previous in line?
I ask because I’ve never seen an ad in iOS except in third party apps?
According to Apple: App Store, Apple News, and Stocks.
Ah; only one of those I use is the App Store, and I just use its search and management features, so never noticed there were ads mixed in with other content I never look at.
Same. I just use it to check for app updates. All the other non-essential Apple I’ve already removed. If they start putting ads in Notes though, I’m gonna be pissed.

Hopefully this means getting rid of Yelp integration once and for all.
Time for Tim Apple to retire.
He is soon, and apparently the guy that’s most likely to replace him is tech-oriented within the company.
Maybe we can get back to expandable and upgradeable hardware again (looks at my 2008 MacPro that is still running unsupported installs as I’m typing this note on my 2010 MBP that is ALSO running an unsupported macOS install…)
