The results show that temperatures above 20°C are consistently associated with fewer male births in both regions – but through different mechanisms.

In sub-Saharan Africa, exposure to high temperatures during the first trimester of pregnancy is linked to a decline in male births.

Wait a sec, let me check my notes… because… ah, yeah, because humanity apparently goes extinct when all males die off. Oh. That’s a bummer.

Oh, okay. But wait a second, there’s something on the back as well. So…hmm… apparently there are parents who don’t like it very much when their unborn baby fucking dies.

          Huh.

But yeah, when what you want is everyone to be miserable and fucking die, then yes, you’re right that in that particular case sex doesn’t matter.

But remember that’s just you and not everyone is nuts.

          Thought experiment:

You - "Why is race important again?"

Because if we got rid of all black people we'd lose perspective and culture.

You - "Doesn't sound so bad to me"

          Conclusion: you are a bigot

The rest of the humans will follow shortly. If that still sounds good, change starts at home.

Probably ok if only 30% of population are male. Maybe even 10% with genetic database. Society and culture will take hit but realistically sperm is not a hard to come by resources. Lol just imagine mail ordering that stuff.

There’s probably is a path to female only reproduction using artificial means. I suppose it would be possible with men too, if we could synthetically gestate a child, but it’s probably easier in women since they possess the evolved ability to gestate. Parthenogenesis has occurred in other organisms, possible perhaps for humans too, with help.

biology is interesting. and learning more about it helps us understand ourselves better and improve medicine…

i don’t think that research aims to control if someone will have a boy or a girl.

like studying the genetics that affect melanin has nothing to do with racial discrimination.
