I think Netflix could probably start selling their tool and make more money from that then streaming if they can get it to work, because I’m guessing AWS makes it hard on purpose.

The company Cloudhealth Technologies has already been doing this for years, and not just with AWS but other cloud providers as well. Unfortunately they’ve been acquired by VMware so no idea if they’re still as good as they used to be…

I had a few AC Pros in a 110+ year old house where other AP’s had issues with all the plaster & lathe walls. They worked great. I also have a couple of them installed at a non-profit org I volunteer with and everybody is very happy with how they work there as well.

After moving from that first house to a new one with a bigger footprint I upgraded to a pair of their U6 mesh AP’s, one at each end of the house. Never had any issues with them.

Simple. Don’t buy a TCL television. If you do have one, or any other brand of “smart” TV then for gods sake do NOT connect it to the internet.

My employer uses WP Engine for a lot of varied content. I’m not directly involved with it, but it appears to be well designed for corporate use. We masquerade various WP sites behind different domains & paths on our site. For example, www.example.com/about/ is one WP environment, www.example.com/blog/ is another, and www.example.com/business/ is yet another. Only certain people in our organization can edit /about/ and /business/, but we hire external authors to provide content under /blog/ so they have access to that.

We also apparently have the ability to modify pages on a dev/test domain then migrate them to our production domain very easily. So changes can be tested & verified before going live.

All that being managed by WP Engine means we don’t have to worry about manually setting up WP, managing our users, making sure everything is properly backed up, etc.

Hope you will be happy with the price of goods and “inflation”, you’re about to have a nasty wake up call.

And not just due to tariffs, but due also to the mass deportations that may now include entire families even if all but one are US citizens or otherwise here legally. Lots of those migrant laborers work farms, slaughterhouses, etc. for poverty wages. No fifth generation red blooded American is going to work in those conditions for so little money.

In other words, it’s effectively Morse Code via light instead of radio or telegraph.

It’s also not that huge a breakthrough, to be honest. I recently finished reading the book “Dark Wire: The Incredibke True Story of the Largest Sting Operation Ever”. It highlights Operation Trojan Shield, in which law enforcement from multiple countries actually ran an encrypted messaging app used by criminals worldwide called ANOM. For over 3 years law enforcement was able to read virtually every message criminals sent over that service. It ultimately led to over 1100 arrests across multiple countries, seizure of 40+ tons of drugs, millions of dollars in various currencies, etc.

So how would you use it to solve this problem? There still needs to be some sort of foolproof way of saying “person X is only 14 years old”.

It makes for a good movie plot, but there are likely backups, etc. that could be recovered fairly easily.

Hell, who is going to want to come study in the US on a visa if we have mass deportations going on? It’s a pretty safe bet that many of those visa holders will get stopped and challenged multiple times by roaming gangs of thugs looking for illegal immigrants to haul away. And it’s also a pretty safe bet that some of them will simply claim the visas are fake or otherwise invalid and make those students lives miserable as they try to sort things out.
