  • It depends on what the medication is. Mostly I just crush it up and mush it into a Churu or their food or something. If they need to be on an empty stomach, like if I need them to have some gabapentin before a vet visit but they need to be on an empty stomach, I’ll dose their water.

Depending on the cat, you may need to look into a different medication, especially if it’s one of the ones with weird flavors, like cherry Clavamox; I’ll see if I can get an abx injection instead.

Worse comes to worse, you can try getting the medication compounded into a different form or a different flavor. The one thing I absolutely insist on getting compounded are appetite stimulants: the cat doesn’t want to eat anyway, and me forcing something down his throat is going to make him more likely to try to avoid both me and the food. I get transdermal ciproheptadine (mirtazapine can make some of them agitated, and I’d rather be certain that any weirdness is their illness and not the treatment). You just gently rub some on their inner ear and an hour later they want to eat :)

  • So, I read the article, and all those stupid, blind, privileged people telling him not to worry, they’ll protect him, he’s “one of the good ones”. And they don’t understand that that’s not going to matter; once the round-ups begin, the government’s not going to care about any of that.

I keep thinking back to Hitler, who said something vaguely like, “There cannot be any exceptions. If we allow exceptions, then everyone has their ‘one good Jew’ and we’d never make any real progress.”

  • Well, the Democrats don’t have an entire media echo-system in place - multiple tv ‘news’ channels, a coast-to-coast network of local conservative radio propagandists, an entire chain of ever-so-slightly-increasingly-radicalized YouTube “hosts” leading from self-improvement and self-appreciation through to denigration and hatred of others - turns out, the easiest way for the alt-right to make someone feel better about themselves is for them to tell their acolytes that they’re great and that someone else is beneath them - doesn’t matter if the ‘other’ are blacks or women or Jews or Muslims or LGBTQ or Hispanics or immigrants or whatever. Just know that “those people” are beneath you, it’s okay to physically, legally, emotionally, and socially attack them whenever you feel like it to ‘remind them of their place’ (especially if you think they might be inclined to overstep it), and everything will be fine …

  • “I hope we’re not going to need too many because I want to get them out, and I don’t want them sitting in camp for the next 20 years.”

That’s good to depend on identifying where they came from and getting some other country to take them. [Hint: most countries aren’t going to want them.]

Trump emphasized he’d act “absolutely within the confines of the law.”

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

He seemed to reject economists’ view that deporting millions of migrant agricultural workers could trigger a spike in the price of goods, saying, “No, because we’re going to let people in, but we have to let them in legally. We don’t want people to come in from jails.”

… Hmm, that reads like he’s going to take bribes from companies to bring in workers (maybe that $1B thing he was tweeting about covers this too), or even accept bribes from workers to come in.

I’m also willing to bet that at some point he’s just going to declare victory: of, yeah, we got enough of them, scared them off, the ones that are left are the “good ones”, the bad ones have been reported except for some that the Democrats wouldn’t let us deport even though they’re very evil people but don’t worry, you’re not supporting them, we’re having them work for their room and board."

And the media will just report exactly what he claims with no fact-checking or pushback and his followers will believe him unreservedly.
