  • There’s far too much circumstantial evidence and credible testimony to simply conclude that it’s all “a distraction”.

We’re talking about numerous firsthand whistleblowers, many of whom have risked their careers, reputations, and even their safety to share their experiences.

Nobody’s saying we know exactly what’s going on, but writing it off as “stupid” or “illogical” because it doesn’t fit neatly into our understanding of the universe is shortsighted at best. The fact that something defies our current scientific understanding doesn’t mean it’s impossible. It means there’s more to learn. Calling it boring might say more about your own curiosity than the topic itself, and to dismiss the topic entirely is incredibly insulting to the many whistleblowers who, again, have risked a great deal to share what they know with the public.

  • sigh another imagined argument about these mythical “Americans” I keep hearing about.

Most Americans also hate this system haha. I mean, McCarthyism still has its effects to this day, and maybe the people I’ve met are not representative of the general population, but I literally haven’t met one American “in love” with capitalism. The most pro-capitalist argument you’ll get here is “well yeah capitalism has its flaws, but it’s the best we got”…which is a bullshit argument, and is in fact the same argument the south used to convince people to keep slavery around fyi.

Then what criteria do you judge a platform based off of? A large part of why I left Reddit was because of the mods…? And the company can certainly do stuff to fix that, but refuse to because money. So if that’s not the case, then I assume you mean the actual structure and layout of Reddit.

And parent comment is saying the employee is a class traitor. Not the, physical structure and layout of the building? The physical building itself didn’t rat, because physical buildings aren’t sentient.

Your analogy is absolute dog shit.

  • Yeah, I get that. However, the optics of having a successful “martyr” symbol is very, very dangerous. A wide scope of narrative means difficult to control. Difficult to control introduces “motivator to action” symbols among a, I think, specific (and quite populous) demographic (think of all the young males with zero purpose, waiting to seize on an opportunity for a real life Mr Robot, for example)… “well if he could do it, get away with it, AND become a ’hero’, what’s stopping me from doing the same?”

Having someone, anyone, buys time to craft the narrative and gauge public sentiment and, most importantly, dampen the probability of a revolutionary ’spark’ if you will.

Obviously we don’t have enough information here. It very well could be the dude they have in custody. I am only sharing one possible theory based off my experience and observations. And there are a number of very suspect observations here that are in line with narrative management.
