More than 167,000 pounds of meat are being recalled across the United States after being produced without proper federal inspection, according to the United States Department of Agriculture.
Gonna copy my comment from another other thread on this, but if the prices, animal ethics, and environmental effects weren’t enough to push people towards plant-based diets, maybe more meat recalls will do the trick
(or I guess plant-based diets that exclude lettuce anyway)
i suspect that the culture wars have made some phrases impossible to ever become mainstream despite them being correct/accurate and “plant-based diet” is one of them as much as “woke” or “alternative lifestyle”
if you call it something that side steps this baggage and can inherit a cultural/historial tradition that rivals modern day meat diets – like “traditional indian cuisine” or “indigenous mexican cooking” – then it gets more mileage.
