Ren and Stimpy makes me so uncomfortable after learning that John K. was a groomer pedo. Made all that much worse by him hiring his victim (“intern”), and recording BtS commentary while seated next to her. I was so disgusted by how many times I watched the cartoons and interviews, only to realize in retrospect that what looked like a young animator who was shy while speaking camera was actually a victim being pressured into praising her abuser in front of an audience.
Supposedly, he wasn’t a perpetrator of sexual misconduct at that time, even though accounts from that time sure look like he was. Then again, even if he were victimizing minors, so was anyone who held any power at Nickelodeon at the time. So, firing him for anything other than deadlines would have caused an explosion of blowback.

…oh. i had heard he was “controversial” but uh not to that extent.
The sad thing is what destroyed his career was more his inability to meet deadlines than any form of sexual misconduct.
