I knew a few people who are gay and none of them have felt the need to redecorate their house in incredibly tacky gold leaf.

No they don’t. Usually gay people have taste and eye for fashion. They wouldn’t wear suits too big or decorate like this tacky monstrosity.

Do you know how misshapen and lumpy Trump’s body is? That man’s tailor is a miracle worker to turn that into “wtf is that” into merely “oh, the suit looks too big”.

Ok, fair point. But again, his taste is horrible. I’ve seen gay people with a taste far from mine, but usually they have an eye for it and it makes sense. With Donny, it doesn’t and it’s just cheap and bad.

Okay, but aside from maybe like the few women drag queens, how often you finding one that isn’t the gayest man you’d ever meet?

    Just some context:

Trump’s (and Roger Stone’s) political mentor was notorious mob lawyer and gay homophobe Roy Cohn, whose death by AIDS was dramatized in the acclaimed 90s play Angels in America.

Cohn, and conservatives in general, always denied that he was gay, rationalizing that he only enjoyed sexually dominating young blonde men. That wasn’t the same as being gay. Okaaaay…

Bottom line is that at the time of their mentorship with Cohn, both Trump and Stone were young blonde men.

Do with this information what you will.

Feels like I’m back in the early aughts with all the homophobia and tired, moronic gay stereotypes in this thread.

Fuck everything about all of this.

I find that a lot of straight liberals will practically foam at the mouth to identify a Bad removed that they can be homophobic towards.

Remember all of those homoerotic images of Trump and Putin that libs loved to be openly disgusted by?

So an lgbt person is not allowed to make these jokes about a man who has treated the lgbt like enemies?

Cause if a homophobe is gonna get mad cause I called him a cocksucker, im gonna happily keep calling him that just to piss him off

I am gay, i have great taste. I consider myself in the know enough to inform you not all gay people have good taste. Some have no taste. Some have bad taste. Some have really bad taste. There is this bias thing going on where you only notice the times your belief is confirmed. And yes, many people with great taste are gay. But there are exceptions. Some people with great taste aren’t even the slightest bit gay. Not sure about Trump though. I consider him someone who definitely has a taste. And all the gold is quite gay. The amount of gold in his penthouses is so extreme it must be some sort of kink. It’s beyond overcompensation. Him being gay would explain a lot.

Please stop stereotyping us like this. We are not all a bunch of fucking Queer Eye characters.

Omg I hated that show… I’d like that saw the bit in Queer as Folk that was amazing at being super critical of commercializing gayness and they decided to make a show out of it like “wait, but what if we could actually make a shit ton of money off of stereotypes?”

That’s fine, but having heard so many times from openly gay people statements like the following, and I quote,

        “Gay.”

        “That is SO gay.”

        “Gay.”

        “Gay!”

        “Oh. Yeah. Gay.”

. . . you have to accept that at a certain level of commentary, the call is coming from inside the house.

TL;DR: I don’t know what looks gay because I am some self-proclaimed cis-het expert on gayness; I know what might look gay because I was personally tutored by obviously authentic experts in the field. Just sayin.

Gay folks can be edgy shitheads too, though. I would not let any of my queer friends get away with using the word “gay” as a pejorative. I’m not asking that you push back against them, just understand why I choose to do even if you don’t.

Not every gay person is a self-loather, kid.

Note: I had deleted my two comments because I genuinely did not want to offend, but when I realized that these “gay” observations, made by men my age who are simply glad to still be standing after the debacle that was the latter part of the last century, were being taken for internalized homophobia I put my comments right back. If anything they are celebratory and may they ever be so. Given what these guys have survived they have every right to be happy, and as far as I am concerned so does every gay person. Nothing wrong with being gay at all, and never has been.

So you need to sit down with that self-hating shit, because it does NOT apply to Every Gay Person Ever.

I think it’s why Liberace was mentioned. In the closet and (what I would describe) as gay with bad taste.
