That’s assuming you’ll meet literally every person on earth

Let’s say you will have a meaningful interaction with 1000 people ever, 1% of that leaves you with 10

If you’re not bi make it 5 before you even start considering wether you also find those people attractive back, if they’re single and in the right age range

So get that confidence back down. Statistics are a bitch

Yeah, its also not a binary “attractive/unattractive”. Out of those 10 people, they would be some who will find you neither attractive or unattractive, just kinda meh. And THEN add some who might find you attractive, but are either in a relationship themselves or like double or more your age.

I want that confidence back! Give it here, buddy, we dont deserve it!

      1000 people ever

for your whole life that seems like a low estimate, but yes it’s gonna take a long time to find that 1%

I live in a city of about 500,000

Of course, I’m not dating anyone outside my acceptable range, which is about 20 years wide. Assuming an even distribution of people across all ages 1 to 100, this narrows it to 20%, or 100,000 people

Of course I’m more interested in ladies than fellas, so I’m gonna cut it to 51% based on gender, so 51,000 potential matches

We’re pretty evenly split politically, and imma be real I ain’t dating someone who’s gonna vote desantis, so let’s cut that in half again to 25,500

About 7% of people share my dietary preferences, and it’s a strong enough moral conviction that it’s a dealbreaker. That number is higher in people who share my political leanings, though, so let’s consider it 14%, or 3570.

Now I just have to figure out the odds that the <1% of people that I would be interested in would be interested in me. If it is just 1%, then there are around 36 dudes, ladies, and nonbinary maties in this city that I could conceivably go out with

To add some more realism to these numbers:

      • Age is not evenly distributed at all.
      • A variety of your other factors likely have significant overlap with each other.
      • 1% mutual interest after already matching on many crucial factors is also exceptionally pessimistic estimating.

IMO people with valid convictions are usually much more attractive than they give themselves credit.

That means 2.6 people find you attractive in every single square mile of land on Earth. Let’s make that 1 to account for children and elderly.

I found two women who find me attractive so that’s nice. I’m happy with that. :)

But in my next life I want to be a guy who gets liked by all girls. Seems fun.

Been there. When I was younger, lots of girl found me attractive.

Problem is, many of them aren’t being genuine. They just want to be with you to impress their other friends. Count them out, and you’ve filtered 90% of all girls.

Then there are those, who want to be with you, but simply think that they are not allowed to be in love with someone. Kinda shy, but mostly a false sense of pride/chastity. So annoying.

Then you are left with a bunch of fat girls, who got emotional problems. They are fine, mostly, but it takes a lot of strength to deal with them. Mostly due to their emotional problems.

Then there are the few, who are actually nice, ready to be in a relationship, and pretty.

These are mostly taken, and most of them tell you “sorry I can’t, my boyfriend would get jealous”, even though it’s pretty clear they simply don’t want to put in the effort to think this through.

Then there’s the rest, which is like 1% maybe.

So here we are, we got full circle.

Yeah. Girls get idolized a lot in teenage movies too, it must be impossible to live up to the hype.
